If you find yourself helping people, just to feel good about yourself, or help them with the hope of winning their love, respect or admiration - Then friend, I have to break it to you, you may have the broken bird syndrome. Now let's get things clear, I am all for helping people. Help where you can, but without expecting anything in return. I used to have the broken bird syndrome too, to be quite honest with you.I was attracted to friends who were super dramatic lol. Always trying to listen to their drama, and then help analyze and solve. Then, when all their problems/drama were sorted, and they (friends) were no where to be seen, I felt used and abandoned. As time went by, I started to notice the pattern and I immediately broke it. I don't have to help people in order for me to feel good about myself ( That's what ice cream is for lol ) , or so that I could be in their success story. I have to do it because I can, and I want to. Be good to people, and people will be good to you. There is absolutely no reason for you to guilt trip people into doing favors for you. I thank you for reading.
